New publication!

Tony's manuscript entitled, "Undifferentiated induced pluripotent stem cells as a genetic model for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease" has been accepted for publication at Cellular and Molecular Gastreoenterology and Hepatology! This work describes the very surprising finding that even in their pluripotent state, iPSCs can still be an informative model to evaluate the impact of gene variants of intracellular lipid accumulation. This work not only highlights the potential for patient-derived iPSCs to be used in the discovery and functionalization of NAFLD genetic modifiers, but also illustrates the possibility that iPSCs themselves could be a broader model for disease.
